Alfred is one of the many power user launcher utilities out there for OS X, and in recent years, it’s stolen a lot of the thunder from competing apps like Quicksilver and Launchbar. I think that a lot of that has to do with Alfred’s more modern look and fit with the more modern look of iOS.

Designer Ollie Kavanagh took a close look at how Alfred—which he worked on—has evolved over the years. It’s a really good look back at the process behind the app’s creation,  as well as the genesis of the Alfred Remote app for iOS. If you’ve ever wondered about about the work that goes into an app, this is a must read.
