TL;DR: News Without Choice

Apple News has gotten quite a bit of attention since launching with iOS 9, TL;DR seeks to take an opposite approach to News. Instead of letting you curate your interests closely, TL;DR lets you see just a little precurated list of the top news stories. Each story gets a short synopsis, If you are interested in getting more information, you can click through to read the original story on the source site.

I think that might be my biggest complaint with TL;DR, I can’t control the sources. I’d also like some topic control. The app also offers some notifications for breaking news or editor’s top picks. I think if you’re looking for a quick high level rundown, this might be your best bet. Don’t expect to get more than a single source, and you’ll be fine. This is a news apps for people that aren’t news junkies.

What’s Good?: Simple design, easy to set up and use.

What Sucks?: Lacks some tuning options, no alternate sources.

Buy It?: If you want News without the commitment and sources, check out TL:DR. Get it free on the App Store.
