Portal 2 now available for Mac OS X

Portal 2 Mac OS X

Valve has released Portal 2 across all platforms including Mac OS X via Steam, the company’s digital distribution platform. The game is already receiving critical acclaim across the internet, and you can get your copy right here for $49.99. The original portal was released in 2007, and the unique puzzle gameplay —where players use the Portal Gun to work their way through levels — soon became a cult hit for gamers around the world.

If you wanted to get this game, it’s fair to say that you will know about it already, and you’re probably playing it instead of reading this post. Those of you who are yet to be convinced — do yourselves a favour and check out the original Portal first, which is going cheap over on Steam. Trust us — you will not be disappointed. Here are the minimum specs for the Mac OS X version of Portal 2, as per the Steam website:

OS: MAC OS X 10.6.7 or higher
Processor: Intel Core Duo Processor (2GHz or better)
Memory: 2GB
Hard Disk Space: At least 7.6 GB of Space
Video: ATI Radeon 2400 or higher / NVIDIA 8600M or higher / Intel HD Graphics 3000

Those of you that are more into your gaming and own a PlayStation 3 can grab a bargain by picking up the PS3 copy of Portal 2 and getting a Mac copy for free. This is to support the introduction of Steam on the PS3, which will allow the console to support cross platform play with Mac users. I know which version I’m going to get when it finally arrives in the UK. Who’s with me?

I'm 22, from London, UK. I have a love of all things Apple and video games. When I'm not writing or Podcasting about such things I can normally be found at the local pub or arcade, two of my favourite places on Earth.
