Cue the lawsuit, Motorola rips off the iPod nano

Motorola has joined Samsung in the copyist realm today by releasing the equivalent of an iPod nano, but named Motoactv. Surprising, we know. There are so many similarities between the two devices, including a nifty watch feature, that we’ve begun taking bets on whether or not Apple’s lawyers are working on filing documents with the court for an injunction.

All kidding aside, this device seems to be aimed at athletes looking for better feedback on their workouts. The Motoactv comes in at $249 for an 8GB device, compared to $129 for an iPod nano. We don’t have one to review, so if you’re looking for a more in-depth analysis, you may want to check out the Engadget review of the device.

We mostly just wanted to point out the extreme similarities between the Motoactv and the iPod nano. It’s true what they say — innovation is dead. Instead of people trying to beat Apple, everyone just wants to be Apple.

What do you think? Blatant rip off? Let us know in the comments.
