Apple updates MainStage 2

Apple has released an update to possibly one of its least-known applications — MainStage 2.

MainStage — part of the Logic Studio suite of applications — is designed for replicating effects and sounds easily done in the studio live on stage for guitarists, keyboardists, drummers and more.

Version 2.1.3 includes several improvements, but here are some of the highlights:

  • Fixes to an issue where presets for Audio Unit plug-ins were incorrectly displayed.
  • The Patch List no longer lags behind the Workspace in response to rapid bursts of incoming patch change commands.
  • Resolves an issue that could cause MainStage to quit unexpectedly when using Undo after deleting a patch.

The 222.1 MB update is recommended for all users . Mac OS X 10.5.8 is required, but Apple recommends Mac OS X 10.6.5 or later for users with Core i5 or i7 Macs. The update can be downloaded via Software Update or directly from Apple’s site.
