Pebble App For iOS Adds Gmail Notifications In New Update

The Pebble app for iOS and catching up to the features that are available for Android users. In today’s new update, Pebble for iOS now lets you receive Gmail notifications, as well as notifications for generic IMAP email services. The company notes that the Pebble app must be running, at least in the background, for the notifications to come through.

Before now, iPhone and iPad users could only use the default iOS 6 mail app, while Android users could already choose between the default option or their Gmail accounts.

It’s easy to set up your Gmail, or other, notifications with Pebble. Once Pebble is connected to your iPhone or iPad, tap the message icon at the bottom of the main app screen. On the Email notifications screen, tap the “Add Account” button and choose which type of email account you want to set up. Enter your information and sign in. When you’ve done this, Pebble will ask for permission to access the contents of your email, which you should allow if you want to receive the notifications.

And there you have it! You can download the updated Pebble app for iOS from the App Store and start receiving those Gmail notifications on your Pebble that you’ve been wishing for.
