Apps of the Week: Wunderkit, Showyou and Wunderkit again!

It’s Friday, and that means it’s time to take a look at some awesome apps for each platform: iPhone, iPad, and Mac OS. Today, we’re focusing on video content and productivity.

Ready? Let’s begin.

iPhone/iPod touch:

Wunderkit: This past Wednesday, 6Wunderkinder announced the public beta of Wunderkit – a new way to organize your life. Think Wunderlist, but bigger and better. The web based app lets you organize tasks into lists, share them with your group, and get a real-time collaborative operation going. Not to mention, grouping these individual projects is as simple as creating a workspace. The iPhone app doesn’t strip any of the core functionalities away either. Rather, it simply makes them work for your 4:3 screen. Not to mention, the notifications keeps you up to date with what’s going on. However, I’d advise turing off the app’s notifications if you’d – you know – like to really get away from work.

iPad:

Showyou: This groundbreaking video collection app has been featured before, but v3.0 of Showyou was released today and with it, a ton of new features: User grids, zoom in to social network grids, browsing by category, hashtag grids, new tray for navigation, and dozens of more improvements both “small and large.” Find videos suggested by your social contacts and share them with friends. It’s that simple.

Mac:

Yes, Wunderkit again: If you’re not all about the GTD (get things done) initiative, then you might find this repetition a bit odd. However, if you’re anything like me and enjoy finding new ways of avoiding balding, stress or grey hairs, you’ll understand. The app goes fullscreen and makes the social platform built on top of Wunderkit all the more fun. However, don’t think of this productivity tool as just all work and no play. There are a few funny “workspaces” set up where you’re bound to get a good laugh. Search for yourself!

Well, that’s it for this week folks! Like the apps we mentioned? Share the post with your friends. Have any suggestions? Email me at jerondu@macgasm.net or ping me @jarederondu and I’ll check them out. Until next Friday, have a great weekend.
