Apple TV 5.4 Beta 4 Released To Developers

On top of iOS 7 beta 5 being released to developers today, Apple has also seeded the fourth beta of Apple’s upcoming Apple TV 5.4 software update. The beta is available to developers directly through Apple’s Developer site and through Apple TV devices that are already running developer betas.

So far there doesn’t seem to be too many changes in the release, but the released notes to say that with the fourth beta for the Apple TV “you can now use an iOS 7 device to set up an Apple TV after restoring or resetting all settings.”

The previous beta release was seeded to developers on July 29, and introduced a number of improvements, like the ability to purchase iTunes music and a new and easy set-top box setup after a full restore or reseting all settings using an iPhone or iPad.

The new beta is available for the second and third-generation Apple TV models, as well as the tweaked third-generation model (Rev A), which can be downloaded from Apple’s developer site.
