The Hostage Trials Returns To Kickstarter

Back in June, we wrote about a Kickstarter project called The Hostage Trials. It was a game that is designed to integrate with your real life and take augmented reality gaming to a new level. Not only that, but it has David-Friggin-Hayter in it. After the initial burst of interest, the support for this project started to slow, so the team at Gnarly Tooth decided to pull the plug on the first Kickstart and relaunch with a new video and restructured rewards.

Today, The Hostage Trials returns to Kickstarter. To pre-order the game, you only need to pledge $5 USD. The more you pledge, the more cool stuff you get — ranging from David Hayter recording your voicemail message as Solid Snake to actual in-game content. To be successfully funded, The Hostage Trials need to raise $90,000 USD by September 16th of this year. That’s forty-five days away from now. As of publication, they just passed the 1.5 K mark with just over 30 backers.

If successfully funded, the game is planned to launch in April of 2013, so the turnaround really isn’t that long, but it is farther than was originally planned. Let’s hope that they see more success this time around. The developers clearly care about the game a lot, and they want it to be the best that it can be. Let’s do this!
