What do you think the tablet will look like?

Apple, Inc. scheduled a media event to be held at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco later this month, sending every Apple fansite a-quiver.

Both January 26 and 27 have been reported as potential dates by iTech Report, Macrumors and Apple Insider among others. Most seem to be leaning on the 27 as the day of reckoning, because everyone and their mom is expecting…

The iSlate. The Jesus tablet. The MacBook Touch. Whatever you’ve been calling it, not since before iPhone’s launch has the Internet boiled over with rumors, schematics and ideas about Apple’s long-rumored tablet computer.

The online consensus is the tablet will run a cross between Apple’s traditional OS X and the iPhone OS. It is supposed to look like the iPhone, but possibly with a 10 inch touchscreen. And it has been handed the lofty task of saving the publishing and television industries.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs has already been credited with rescuing the music industry through iTunes. And if this tablet is any bit as revolutionary as iPhone, prepare to have your world rocked.
