Apple Now Sitting At Number 17 On Fortune 500 List

Apple’s broken into the top 20 of Fortune’s Top 500 listing for the first time in its history. One of the world’s most profitable companies now sits neatly at number 17. At this time last year, Apple sat in the number 35 position, making the year over year jump quite a substantial.

Forbes ranks the top companies in the United States year after year based on annual reported revenues. Sitting at the top of the Fortune 500 list is Exxon Mobil, and Wal-Mart Stores. Other notable tech companies also made the list. HP sits in the 10th spot, Microsoft comes in at 37 and Dell is at 44. Google, the makers of the Android operating system, sits nicely in the 73rd spot in this year’s listing.
