Apps of the Week: They Need To Be Fed, ListBook, and Skip Tunes

It’s Friday, and that means it’s time to take a look at some awesome apps for each platform: iPhone, iPad, and Mac OS. Today, we’re focusing on fun games, task management, and simplifying iTunes.

Ready? Let’s begin.

iPhone/iPod touch:

They Need To Be Fed: This game is genuinely addicting. I must warn you that there will be numerous occasions where you might yell at your friend for distracting you (from beating that level you’ve been working on for the past five minutes). TNTBF, as I call it, is a creative and deceptively complex 360° gravity platformer game. Run and jump through numerous levels to feed the cute monsters. Jump from rotating planes to moving platforms, avoiding dangers and collecting diamonds. Try it! You most likely won’t be putting it down anytime soon.

iPad:

ListBook: There are many to-do list apps out there. Even Apple took a turn with their Reminders app in iOS 5. But none of these apps provides everything I’m looking for in a to-do app. That’s where ListBook comes in. Create many types of lists (shopping lists, to-do lists, reminders, etc.) and watch the user interface adapt to it! Have your lists on every device with iCloud, set reminders, send lists via email, tag items with different colors, and assign category icons to your lists to distinguish them from each other. All packed into one $1.99 app. If you’re the type that’s still on the hunt for the ideal to-do list app, pick this one up along the way.

Mac:

Skip Tunes: Last week, Skip Tunes asked me to check their app out. At first, I thought it was just another music controller app that looked good, but didn’t really work all that well. I was absolutely wrong. Not only is this app well designed, but it simply works. Skip Tunes makes controlling your music fast, fun, and simple. With its elegant and unobtrusive design, clicking on the menu bar will grow on you within minutes of downloading it. Not to mention, the app is also compatible with Spotify and Rdio. Think of it this way. Skip Tunes should have come pre-installed in Mac OS. Get it now at its discounted price of $0.99!

Well, that’s it for this week, folks! Like the apps we mentioned? Share the post with your friends. Have any suggestions? Email me at jerondu@macgasm.net or ping me @jarederondu and I’ll check them out. Until next Friday, have a great weekend.
